Unpacking An App: Western (Part 2)

Welcome back to ‘Unpacking An App’, featuring the Western app by Western Sydney University. We ca unpack the app further, by looking at it’s UI (User Interface). The overall UI makes the app a simplistic and easy one to use, with it’s sense of navigation not┬áleaving much room for error. However, it could be perhaps a little more organised (as mentioned in Part 1), modules could be segregated by alphabet or thematic approach.

Now, in regard to the visual design, the overall look and feel of the app appears somewhat…dated. Though the design elements stand for simplicity and match the university’s colour scheme, the overall look makes it look outdated and basic. On the contrary, this leaves room for rejuvenation. Perhaps the implementation of cleaner lines, tighter typography, and visual hierarchy could make it more aesthetically appealing.
